Why Do You Need A Gut Health Stool Test?
There are so many reasons to consider GI Map testing for your gut health. Most notably, your second brain is in your gut. That’s right! You have 2 brains. The gut is often called the second brain because it contains the enteric nervous system. This important network composed of various neurons helps us digest/absorb nutrients, regulate blood flow, and enables our immune defense. The enteric nervous system is embedded in the walls of the intestinal tract beginning from the lower end of the esophagus to the rectum. Keeping your gut free of parasites, problematic bacteria, and yeast is crucial for optimal health. It's important to know that you don’t have to have GI symptoms to have a gut imbalance. Many people go years without knowing that their gut health is comprised. Hair loss, fatigue, skin problems and PMS have all been linked to gut imbalance. For some though, the symptoms are major and can’t be missed. Some of the most common gut imbalance symptoms are pain, IBS, constipation, flatulence, mucus, weight gain/loss, food cravings, poor sleep, poor nutrient absorption, autoimmune conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, anxiety, and depression. These diagnoses are often given without a thought as to why they are occurring. Gut health is easily impacted by stress, poor diet, environmental pollutants like glyphosate, statins, smoking, allergy medications, antidepressants, birth control pills, and diabetes medications like Metformin.
